What are the tools that allow you to do this? Email, text messaging, instant messaging, blogs, chat rooms, discussion groups and websites, to name a few.

The Difference Between Advertising and Marketing

Most people tend to think of advertising and marketing as being the same thing. Not true! Advertising is only one of the many tools used in marketing.

While advertising is a part of the over all marketing process, marketing also includes research, distribution, pricing, sales, branding and much more.

When does Marketing becoming Advertising?

Example:

Advertising is a powerful vehicle that allows a business to become well known in a particular corner of the market. This is called "Branding".

Branding, like other aspect of marketing, will show up in the advertising. This is where most people get confused.

Branding is accomplished when the Company Name, Logo, Slogan, or a combination of the three become associated with the business.

Before you can place your Company Name, Logo or Slogan in an advertisement, they have to be created. After they're created, they need to be researched to see if anyone else is using them.

The creation and research of these items are the marketing aspect of banding. Only when they are placed in your advertisements, do they become a part of advertising.

So advertising is the actual placement of ads. Everything else is Marketing!
